1.
Extended Temperature Cell (ETC)
The ETC accessory, based on the Joule-Thomson
effect, allows measurements in cone and plate and parallel plate over
the temperature range -180 to 550°C. Heating and cooling rates
of 20°C/min. are possible in a static environment. Thermal expansion
of the cell, measuring system and sample is compensated for automatically.
For environmentally sensitive samples, the ETC is equipped with an
inert gas inlet. |

High Pressure Cell The
High Pressure Cell is used for studying rheological properties of
samples at pressures greater than 1,500 psig with full viscometry
and low frequency oscillatory capabilities. Possible applications
include studying processes like drilling mud performance, polymer
solution addition, gel formation, crude oil transport at low temperatures,
and wax precipitation under varying solids content, temperature,
and pressure. The cell can also be used as a miniature polymerization
reactor. Temperature range is -20 to 400°
C. Maximum pressure is 15,000 psig.

Extended Pressure Cell
The Extended Pressure Cell allows measurements on samples containing
volatile components and pressure induced materials changes to 1,500
psig. The Pressure Cell is hermetically sealed, and driven by a magnetic
coupling. Temperature range is -20 to 200°C,
the upper limit depends on the sample internal pressure. Back

Heated Couette Cell (CCE)
The CCE accessory extends the temperature
range for concentric cylinders to -100 to 350°C
with heating and cooling rates to 20°C/min..
A wide range of couette sizes are available, as well as custom made
tooling for special applications, and disposal cups for quick sample
exchange. To extend the measuring range of the CCE further, cone and
plate, parallel plate, and vane geometries are available. Back

Sealed Cell
The Sealed Cell (patented) allows full dynamic oscillatory and viscometric
measurements on volatile samples in a controlled environment. The
cell is pressurized by a non contacting air bearing, with cell pressures
to 100 psig. Temperature range for the Sealed Cell is -10 to 350°C,
the upper limit depends on the vapor pressure of the sample of interest.
The Sealed Cell can also be equipped with parallel plate measuring
geometries for more viscous samples. Back

UV Cell
The UV cell is used to monitor changes
in material properties as a result of exposure to ultraviolet or other
frequency light. The cell has a temperature range from 10° to
350°C. The innovative design allows the plates to be easily removed
to facilitate working with vitrified samples. Back

Electro-rheological Cell (ER)
The ER Cell allows measurements where an
electric field is applied across the sample. The ER Cell is available
for both parallel plate, cone and plate, and couette measuring systems.
The filed strength can be varied up to 3KV/mm. Temperature range is
-20 to 250°C. Back

Fiber/Film Tension Cell
The Tension Cell allows for measurements on thin
films and fibers in the temperature range -180 to 550°C.Measurement
of Young's modulus, glass transition (Tg), secondary transitions,
creep/recovery, and shortening can be performed over the temperature
range specified. Back to Top

RheoPolymer Cell
The RheoPolymer
Temperature Cell shown above is a convectively heated temperature
cell for testing samples at elevated temperatures in cone/plate,
parallel plate, rectangular torsion, or fiber/film tension configurations.
The cell operates across the temperature range from -10 to 550°C,
and is extendable to -60°C using an optional air chiller or
to -180°C with optional Liquid Nitrogen (LN2) Accessory.
Controlled
heating and cooling rates of 20°C/min. are possible. Thermal
expansion of the cell, measuring system and sample is compensated
for automatically. For environmentally sensitive samples, the RheoPolymer
cell can operate with any inert gas supply. Back
